Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are already in Old Montreal, the best way to reach Place Jacques-Cartier is by walking. From the Notre-Dame Basilica, head south on Rue Saint-Sulpice towards Place Jacques-Cartier. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rue de la Commune. Turn left onto Rue de la Commune, then take the first right onto Place Jacques-Cartier. The square will be in front of you, surrounded by restaurants and shops, making for a vibrant atmosphere.

  • Public Transit

    If you are farther away in Old Montreal, you can use the Metro system. Find the nearest Metro station, which could be Place-d'Armes or Square-Victoria-OACI. Take the Green Line towards Angrignon and get off at the next station, Berri-UQAM. Transfer to the Orange Line towards Côte-Vertu and get off at the next station, Jean-Drapeau. From there, it is about a 15-minute walk to Place Jacques-Cartier. Exit the station, head west on Rue de l'Île towards Rue de la Commune, and turn left to reach the square.
