Car
From central Ottawa, take Highway 417 East towards Quebec. Continue on Highway 417 until you reach the exit for Highway 174 East towards Orleans. Follow Highway 174 until you see the exit for Trim Road. Take the Trim Road exit and turn left onto Trim Road. Continue on Trim Road until you reach Tweddle Road. Turn right onto Tweddle Road, and Petrie Island Beach will be on your left at 795 Tweddle Rd, Orléans, ON K4A 3P4. Parking is available on-site, and be aware that there may be a small parking fee during peak season.
Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, start by taking the OC Transpo bus route 94 from downtown Ottawa towards Orleans. Get off at the stop at Trim Road and Highway 174. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 kilometers along Trim Road to Tweddle Road. Turn left onto Tweddle Road, and Petrie Island Beach will be on your left at 795 Tweddle Rd, Orléans, ON K4A 3P4. Ensure you check the bus schedule in advance, as service may vary on weekends and holidays.
Alternative Transportation
For those looking for a more active option, consider cycling to Petrie Island Beach. The Ottawa Valley has several cycling paths, and you can follow the paths along the Ottawa River if you're coming from downtown Ottawa. Be sure to take the pathways that lead you to the Eastern portion of Highway 174, where you can then connect to Trim Road. From Trim Road, follow the directions as mentioned above to reach Tweddle Road and the beach.
