Public Transit
If you are starting from downtown Ottawa, take the OC Transpo bus number 1 or 7 from the nearest bus stop to your location. For example, if you are near the Parliament Buildings, walk to the nearest bus stop on Wellington Street. Board the bus heading towards the ByWard Market. Make sure to stay on the bus for about 10 minutes and get off at the stop for Rideau Street. From there, it's a short walk to Lower Town. Head east on Rideau Street until you reach Sussex Drive, then turn left and continue until you enter Lower Town.
Walking
If you are already in the ByWard Market area, you can easily walk to Lower Town. Start from the ByWard Market and head southeast on George Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Sussex Drive. Turn right on Sussex Drive and walk south. You will soon enter Lower Town. Look for signs indicating the area, and enjoy the scenic views along the way.
Biking
For those who prefer biking, you can rent a bike from any of the bike-sharing stations available across Ottawa. Head towards the Rideau Canal and follow the bike path south. Continue until you reach the intersection with Wellington Street, then turn left. Follow the road until you reach Sussex Drive, and turn right to enter Lower Town. Biking is a great way to experience the sights of the city while enjoying a leisurely ride.
