Frank Worthington Simon and Henry Boddington III, from Liverpool, England, won the competition with their impressive design. Construction began in 1913, using Manitoba Tyndall stone quarried in Garson. The exterior is adorned with allegorical works of art that celebrate wisdom, justice, and courage. The Golden Boy statue, a gold-covered bronze figure inspired by the Roman god Mercury, stands atop the building's dome, symbolizing Manitoba's eternal youth and progress.Inside, the building boasts Canada's only circular legislative chamber and over 350 rooms.
