Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major city in the Prairies, which is Saskatoon. Head south on Highway 11 towards Regina. After about 90 kilometers, take the exit for Highway 19 towards Elbow. Continue on Highway 19 for about 35 kilometers until you reach Elbow. Once in Elbow, follow signs for Douglas Provincial Park, which is located at 302 Stanley St. Expect a total drive time of approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Douglas Provincial Park by public transportation, you can take a bus from Saskatoon to Elbow. Check with Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC) for schedules and routes, as they may vary. Once you arrive in Elbow, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to cover the final stretch to Douglas Provincial Park, as public transportation does not directly service the park. The taxi ride from Elbow to the park will take approximately 10 minutes and may cost around CAD 15-20.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, biking from Saskatoon to Douglas Provincial Park is an option, though it is quite a long journey (approximately 130 kilometers one way). You can follow the same route as the car, taking Highway 11 southbound, then Highway 19 towards Elbow. Ensure you have the appropriate gear, plenty of water, and snacks for the ride, as there are limited services along the route.

• Walking

  Walking to Douglas Provincial Park from a nearby location is not practical due to the distance. If you are in Elbow, you can walk to the park, which is about 3 kilometers away from the town center. Follow Stanley Street south until you reach the park entrance.
