Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from Regina, Saskatchewan. Take the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) heading west. After about 50 km, take the exit for Highway 39 South towards Assiniboia. Continue on Highway 39 for approximately 75 km until you reach the junction with Highway 13. Turn left onto Highway 13 and drive for about 55 km. When you reach Wood Mountain, look for signs directing you to Wood Mountain Regional Park, which is located just off the highway. Parking is available on-site.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, you can take a bus from Regina to Assiniboia. Check with Saskatchewan Public Service for bus schedules. Once in Assiniboia, you may need to arrange a taxi or ride-sharing service to take you the remaining 25 km to Wood Mountain Regional Park, as public transport directly to the park is limited. Be sure to confirm the taxi fare in advance to avoid unexpected costs.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, biking from Regina to Wood Mountain is an option, though it requires a high level of fitness and preparation. Plan your route along the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 39. Be sure to check local biking regulations and wear appropriate safety gear. The total distance is about 130 km, so consider breaking this into two days, with a stop in Assiniboia for rest. Carry water and supplies, as services are sparse along the route.
