Discover more about Globe Theatre

The Globe Theatre, situated in Regina's landmark Prince Edward Building, has been a cornerstone of Saskatchewan's cultural landscape since 1966. Founded by Ken and Sue Kramer, it was the province's first professional theatre company. The theatre is named after Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London. Housed in the historic Prince Edward Building, originally built in 1906 as the Regina Post Office and RCMP headquarters, the Globe Theatre took over the second and third floors in 1981. In 2014, the Globe Theatre purchased the entire Prince Edward Building. The Globe Theatre underwent extensive renovations between 2020 and 2024 and re-opened to the public in November 2024. As Canada's only permanent theatre-in-the-round, the Globe offers a unique and intimate viewing experience. The theatre stages a variety of productions each year, including classics, contemporary works, and Canadian plays. In addition to mainstage performances, the Globe Theatre provides a platform for emerging artists and new works through its Sandbox Series. The Globe Theatre School offers year-round programs for children and young adults. The Globe Theatre is more than just a performance venue; it's a community hub that fosters creativity, connection, and the magic of live performance.
