Step back in time at the Saskatchewan Railway Museum, a treasure trove of railway history located just southwest of Saskatoon on Highway 60. Founded in 1990, the museum is operated by the Saskatchewan Railroad Historical Association (SRHA) and is dedicated to preserving and displaying Saskatchewan's railway legacy. The museum's grounds span seven acres and feature a diverse collection of railway buildings, vintage railcars, and artifacts. Explore a variety of locomotives, including steam engines and diesel locomotives, as well as passenger cars, freight cars, and cabooses. Highlights include a Canadian Pacific S-3 locomotive restored to its original colors, a 1913 Pullman sleeping car, and several streetcars that once operated in Saskatoon. Visitors can climb aboard some of the trains and explore the interiors, offering a hands-on experience. The museum also features an interpretive center with exhibits about the history of railways in Saskatchewan. In addition to its railway exhibits, the museum is also the site of a former internment camp from 1919, marked by a memorial. The museum is open during the summer months, from the May long weekend to the September long weekend.
