Discover more about Brampton City Hall

Brampton City Hall stands as a symbol of civic pride and community engagement in the heart of Brampton. Completed in 1991, the six-story building was designed by Robert J. Posliff Architect Inc. and features a unique bell tower and a curved entrance adorned with columns. The building not only houses the Brampton City Council and various city departments but also serves as a venue for numerous community events and celebrations. Before the construction of the City Hall, the site was originally Memorial Park, which later became Ken Whillans Square. In 2014, a nine-story tower was added as part of the Southwest Quadrant Renewal Plan, connected to the main building via a glass walkway named Heritage Way. This expansion provides additional space for city staff, community rooms, and retail shops, enhancing the building's role as a vibrant center for civic life. The expansion was designed by Zeidler Architecture, featuring red glass walls, acoustical wood paneling, and a green roof. Throughout the year, Brampton City Hall hosts a variety of events, including cultural celebrations, festivals, and community gatherings. These events reflect Brampton's diverse population and its commitment to fostering a strong sense of community. The City Hall is surrounded by other key landmarks such as the Rose Theatre, Gage Park, and the Brampton Library, making it a central point for visitors exploring downtown Brampton.
