Trappist Monastery Provincial Heritage Park: A Journey Through History and Nature

Getting There

• Public Transit (Bus)

  From Osborne Village, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located at the corner of Osborne Street and Stradbrook Avenue. Board Route 18 (to Charleswood). This bus will take you towards the end of the route at the stop near McGillivray Boulevard. After approximately 20-25 minutes, get off at the stop for McGillivray Boulevard and Rue des Ruines du Monastere. From there, walk south on Rue des Ruines du Monastere for about 5 minutes until you reach Trappist Monastery Provincial Heritage Park at 80 Rue des Ruines du Monastere.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing service available in Osborne Village. Start by heading west on Stradbrook Avenue, then turn onto Pembina Highway. Follow the designated bike lanes until reaching McGillivray Boulevard. Turn left onto McGillivray and continue to Rue des Ruines du Monastere. The park will be on your right, about a 15-20 minute ride depending on your pace.

• Walking

  For a scenic route, you can walk from Osborne Village to Trappist Monastery Provincial Heritage Park. Start at the corner of Osborne Street and Stradbrook Avenue. Walk west along Stradbrook Avenue until you reach Pembina Highway. Cross Pembina at the intersection and continue on the pathway that leads to McGillivray Boulevard. Follow McGillivray Boulevard until you reach Rue des Ruines du Monastere. The walk will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour, allowing you to enjoy the neighborhood's sights.
