Getting There

  • Walking

    Doli Lodge is located a five-minute walk from the village of Bayanga. From the center of the village, follow the main road towards the Sangha River. The lodge is situated on the banks of the river and is easily accessible on foot.

  • Transportation from Bangui

    The primary way to reach Doli Lodge from Bangui is by a long overland journey or by charter flight. Overland, rent a 4x4 vehicle for a roughly 14-hour drive on challenging roads, especially during the rainy season. Alternatively, charter a flight from Bangui to Bayanga's airstrip, which takes about an hour. Flights cost around XAF 2,000,000 (€3,000) for 8-9 passengers. Doli Lodge is a short walk from the Bayanga Airstrip.

  • Boat Transfer from Libongo, Cameroon

    If arriving from Cameroon, arrange a boat transfer from Libongo to Bayanga. This involves crossing the border between Cameroon and the Central African Republic. Contact local operators in advance to arrange the boat and necessary border crossing assistance. From the riverbank in Bayanga, Doli Lodge is a short walk away.

Originally opened in 1996 and renovated in 2019, the lodge provides a comfortable and eco-friendly retreat after a day of exploring the surrounding wilderness.The lodge features four two-bedroom bungalows constructed with local materials and raised on stilts, each offering a wide terrace with stunning views of the Sangha River. The rooms offer necessary comforts, including hot water provided by solar energy. The open-air dining room provides a relaxing space to enjoy tasty European and African dishes prepared with local, organic ingredients.Doli Lodge serves as the ideal starting point for various ecotourism activities within the Dzanga-Sangha National Park. Guests can easily observe monkeys and birds in the hotel garden. The sounds of the African bush and the surrounding wildlife create an unforgettable experience. The lodge is also a great location to observe river life, including boatmen, fishermen, hippos, and various water birds.Bayanga itself has a rich history, starting as a small Sangha-Sangha fishing village inhabited by the Baka people. The town grew in the 1970s with the arrival of the logging industry. Today, it serves as a base for exploring the Dzanga-Sangha Protected Area System.
