Public Transport
The most common way to reach Aconcagua Provincial Park is by bus from Mendoza. Several bus companies, like Andesmar, operate daily services from Mendoza's main bus terminal to the park entrance at Horcones. The journey takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours. From the Mendoza bus terminal, take an Andesmar bus to Parque Aconcagua. Bus tickets range from AR$10,000 to AR$140,000. Check the Mendoza Ministry of Tourism website or the bus terminal for current schedules and prices. The bus will drop you off near the park entrance, where you'll need to register and potentially pay an entrance fee depending on your planned activities.
Driving
Driving to Aconcagua Provincial Park from Mendoza offers flexibility and scenic views. The distance is approximately 180 km (112 miles), and the drive takes around 2-3 hours. From Mendoza, take RN40 south for 25 km, then connect to RN7 towards Chile. Continue on RN7 until you reach Puente del Inca, then drive 3 km further to the park entrance. The route is paved. Be aware of potential weather changes and check road conditions before you travel. There is parking available at the Horcones checkpoint. However, parking can be limited during peak season.
