Getting There

• Car

  From the center of Futaleufu, head south on Avenida Alemania towards Ruta 5. After approximately 1.5 kilometers, turn left onto Ruta 5, which is the main highway heading towards the south. Continue on Ruta 5 for about 25 kilometers until you see signs for 'Reserva Nacional Futaleufu'. Turn left onto the road leading to the reserve. Follow the signs to the entrance, which is approximately 10 kilometers from the main road. Be mindful of the road conditions, as some sections can be rough.

• Public Transportation

  In Futaleufu, locate the local bus station. Buses heading to the Futaleufu National Reserve may not run frequently, so check the schedule in advance. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes, and you should inform the driver you are going to the reserve. Once you arrive at the nearest stop to the reserve entrance, you may need to walk approximately 2 kilometers to reach the entrance, depending on where the bus drops you off.

  If you prefer a more direct route or are traveling in a group, consider hiring a local taxi or using a rideshare app if available. From the center of Futaleufu, you can negotiate a fare with the taxi driver. The trip to Futaleufu National Reserve should take around 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic and road conditions.
