Car
From the center of Futaleufú, head south on Calle Blanco Encalada towards Ruta 231. After approximately 10 km, turn right onto Ruta 231. Continue for about 7 km until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork to stay on Ruta 231. After another 8 km, you'll see a sign for Laguna del Azul. Turn left onto the dirt road, which leads directly to the lake. The drive will take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on road conditions.
Public Transportation
From the main square in Futaleufú, look for local transport options such as shared taxis or vans heading towards Lago Verde. Confirm with the driver that they are going to Laguna del Azul or its vicinity. The trip usually costs around CLP 2,000 to 5,000 (depending on negotiation and availability) and takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Lago Verde, you may need to walk approximately 1.5 km to reach Laguna del Azul, following the signs or asking locals for directions.
Walking
If you prefer to hike, from the center of Futaleufú, take Calle Blanco Encalada south until it meets Ruta 231. Turn left and follow the road for about 10 km, then follow the same directions as the car route to reach Laguna del Azul. This hiking route is approximately 10-12 km one way and can take 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
