Car
From the center of Futaleufu, head southwest on Avenida 21 de Mayo towards Calle C. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Ruta 7. Turn right onto Ruta 7 and drive for approximately 12 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs indicating the Laguna Hermana area. You will need to take a left turn onto a gravel road that leads to the lagoon. The journey by car will take around 30 minutes, depending on road conditions.
Public Transportation
While public transportation options are limited, you can check for local shuttle services or buses heading towards the Lagoons. Start by walking to the main bus station in Futaleufu, located near the town square. Inquire at the station about any shuttles or buses that may go towards Laguna Hermana. If available, take the bus and get off at the closest point to the lagoon. Be sure to ask the bus driver or locals for the best drop-off point. From there, you may need to walk the remaining distance, which could take about 20-30 minutes depending on your drop-off point.
Hiking
For the adventurous, after reaching the gravel road via car or public transportation, you may choose to hike to Laguna Hermana. The trailhead can be found where the gravel road begins, and it is a scenic route that takes you through the beautiful landscape of the area. The hike is moderate and should take around 1 to 1.5 hours. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear and carry water. Note that this option is only advisable if you are in good physical condition and have the proper gear.
