From Puerto Varas, follow Route 225 south for approximately 20 kilometers (12 miles) until you reach the lake's edge. Public Transportation
For public transportation, take a bus from Puerto Montt to Puerto Varas. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes and costs approximately 1,500 CLP (Chilean Pesos). Once in Puerto Varas, you can either walk or take a local taxi to the lakeshore, which is only a few kilometers away. Taxis in Puerto Varas are readily available and will cost around 5,000 CLP to reach the lake.
