Public Transport
From Talca, take a bus from the Terminal de Buses Lorenzo Varoli to Vilches Alto. Buses to Armerillo are also an option. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. From Vilches Alto, the entrance to the reserve is a short distance away. Check return bus times at the CONAF hut. Bus fare is approximately $4 USD.
Taxi
From San Clemente, hire a taxi or shuttle to the Altos de Lircay National Reserve entrance, roughly 18 km away. Expect to pay around CLP 10,000 to CLP 15,000 (approximately $12-$18 USD).
Driving
From Talca, take Route 5 towards San Clemente. Continue on Route 5 for about 30 km. Once you reach San Clemente, follow signs for Route J-55. Most of the road is paved, but the last stretch is gravel. A 2WD vehicle can make it, but a 4WD is recommended. Parking is available at the CONAF information center.
