To reach The Tarapacá Giant by car, start from the city of Iquique. Take Route 5 in the direction of Huara. This route is approximately 175 km and will take around 2 hours and 30 minutes. As you approach Huara, look for signs directing you to Iluga. Once you arrive in Iluga, continue following local signs leading you to The Tarapacá Giant. There are no entrance fees for visiting the Giant, but ensure your vehicle is in good condition as the roads can be rugged.
Public Transportation
From Iquique, take a bus from the Terminal de Buses to Huara. The bus ride takes about 2 hours and costs around 4,000 to 5,000 CLP. Once you arrive in Huara, you can either rent a car or hire a local taxi to take you to Iluga and The Tarapacá Giant, which is about 30 km away. Taxi fares may vary, but expect to pay around 15,000 to 20,000 CLP for the trip.
