Car
If you're driving from any location in the O'Higgins Region, head towards Santiago on Route 5 (Pan-American Highway). Follow the signs to Santiago and take the exit towards Av. Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins (also known as Alameda). Continue straight until you reach Parque Forestal, where Castillo Hidalgo is located within the park. Look for parking options nearby, as street parking can be limited.
Bus
You can take a bus from different towns in O'Higgins Region to Santiago. Look for buses heading to 'Santiago Terminal' (e.g., from Rancagua or San Fernando). Upon arriving in Santiago, you can take the metro Line 1 (Red Line) to 'Universidad de Chile' station. From there, it’s a 15-minute walk to Castillo Hidalgo. Head west on Av. Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins and then turn right onto Pío Nono Street, which leads directly to the castle.
Taxi/Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct option, you can take a taxi or use a rideshare app like Uber. Simply input 'Castillo Hidalgo' as your destination. This method is convenient, especially if you have luggage or are traveling in a group. Expect to pay around 8,000 to 12,000 CLP from central Santiago, depending on traffic.

If you're already in downtown Santiago, you can walk to Castillo Hidalgo. From Plaza de Armas, head towards Av. Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins and walk east. Continue until you reach Parque Forestal.
