Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at Plaza Muñoz Gamero, the central square in Punta Arenas. From the square, head south on Avenida Colón. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Calle Magallanes. Turn left onto Calle Magallanes and walk until you reach the intersection with Avenida Independencia. Turn right onto Avenida Independencia and keep walking for about 500 meters. You will see signs for Cerro de la Cruz. Follow the signs and continue on to the dirt path leading to the observation point.

  • Public Transport

    Take a local bus from the Plaza Muñoz Gamero. Look for buses heading towards 'Cerro de la Cruz' or 'Avenida Independencia'. The bus ride should take around 15 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to the entrance of the path leading to Cerro de la Cruz. From there, follow the path uphill. It's a short walk from the bus stop to the observation deck.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops near Plaza Muñoz Gamero. Head south down Avenida Colón, then take a left on Calle Magallanes. Follow Calle Magallanes until you reach Avenida Independencia, turn right and continue until you see the entrance to the path leading up to Cerro de la Cruz. The ride should take about 20 minutes.
