After about 15 km, look for signs to Cerro Toco. Follow the unpaved road leading to the mountain's base. A 4WD vehicle is recommended due to the rough road conditions. Ensure you have sufficient fuel and supplies, as there are no services along the way. Car rentals are available in San Pedro de Atacama. The cost of the drive is estimated at $7-$9 USD.
Public Transport
A local bus from San Pedro de Atacama to the 'Cerro Toco' viewpoint departs from the main bus terminal. The journey takes about 1 hour and costs approximately 5,000 CLP (approximately $6 USD).
