Wulff Castle, or Castillo Wulff in Spanish, is a captivating coastal landmark in Viña del Mar, Chile. Constructed in 1906 for the Wulff family, this historic castle has become an iconic symbol of the city. Gustavo Adolfo Wulff Mowle, a German businessman, originally commissioned the house, which was later transformed into a castle by architect Alberto Cruz Montt in 1917.The castle's architecture is an eclectic mix of neo-Gothic and Renaissance styles, featuring turrets, crenellations, and a distinctive circular tower. The castle's facade resembles a medieval English house, adding to its unique charm. A notable feature is the glass-floored bridge connecting the main building to the round tower, offering views of the waves crashing against the rocks below.Over the years, Wulff Castle has served various purposes. It was once home to the Museo Naval de la Armada de Chile (Chilean Navy Forces Museum) and later housed the collection of writer Salvador Reyes Figueroa. Today, it serves as the headquarters of the city's heritage center and hosts art exhibitions. Although the castle is temporarily closed for renovations, the exterior remains a popular attraction, with its picturesque gardens and breathtaking ocean views.
