Car
From anywhere in the Red Crabs Migration Area, head towards the main road, which is the North-West National Park Road. Follow this road for approximately 30 minutes. You will see signs for Dolly Beach along the way. As you approach the beach area, turn onto the access road leading directly to Dolly Beach. Parking is available at the beach. Note that a vehicle entry fee may apply, so it is advisable to carry cash or check for payment options.
Public Transport
If you prefer using public transport, you can take a local bus service from the main town area of Christmas Island to the Red Crabs Migration Area. Look for the bus that has Dolly Beach listed as one of its stops. The bus ride lasts about 45 minutes. Once you get off at the designated stop for Dolly Beach, follow the clearly marked paths leading to the beach. Ensure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may be limited, especially on weekends.
Walking
For the more adventurous, if you are already in the Red Crabs Migration Area, you can walk to Dolly Beach. The walk is approximately 2.5 km and will take around 45 minutes. Start at the nearest point of interest, such as the Red Crab lookout, and follow the well-marked trails. The trail is scenic, and you may encounter various wildlife along the way. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as there are no facilities on the trail.
