What a fantastic experience! This tour ends up taking a little longer, because your guide really lets you see and experience nature up close. You really get an authentic tour, no other boats come here with tourists. So don't hesitate, but book this tour. This is nothing boring with the tourist traps (the tours from the harbor that go up the river en masse with boats full of tourists and have to wait for other tourist boats at every stop). With this tour you will fish for piranhas in a secluded spot in the mangrove forest from your own boat, you will take a mighty boat trip through nature and see the animals up close, you will have lunch at the guide’s house - very private and secluded in the middle of the jungle / river. Then you walk with him through the jungle and he will teach you all about plants and animals that live there. Paolo the guide is a warm personality full of humor! He will take you to the hidden places and really give you an authentic experience of the nature and history of the Amazon! Our children of 14, 12 and 3 loved it too!

3 Days Amazon Jungle Adventure Tour

We had three days in the Amazon, and it was the highlight of our vacation! The program we expected was to go piranha fishing, visit a village, and go on a jungle trek. However the program we got was so much more than that. There was never a shortage of stuff to do, and our group was constantly being taken out into the jungle for 'authentic' experiences. Here's what to expect, the activites you get to do depend on how long you're staying (2-7 days) Activities available (included in rate): Jungle Hike with explanation of medical plants Observation of dolphins, birds, monkeys, sloths, jaguars, snakes, spiders, rodents Swimming with pink river dolphin Caiman spotting Fishing for Amazon catfish, Piranha, Peacock bass, Traira and other Sunrise tour with bird watching Observation of huge trees and giant water lilies Introduction in survival techniques in the jungle and overnight in the jungle Visiting native family with manioc farm and tropical fruit trees Visit of meeting of the waters Overnight in the jungle If I had to pick something for improvement, it'd be that the accommodations are small and hot, and water for the shower runs out often. Also the food --while good-- was the same every lunch and dinner. If I had to recommend an activity it'd be overnight in the jungle. It is amazing, the food and drinks are fantastic and the hiking through the jungle at night is unforgettable. But bring earplugs, because you're never heard snoring quite like a group of campers in hammocks. The other activity I'd recommend not missing is the piranha fishing. Not so much for the fishing part, but we were able to swim in the river and watch the sunset. We literally were pulling fish out of the water one minute, and swimming with them the next. As they will tell you, piranhas pose zero threat to swimmers.

Eddie, the red head guide was awesome, very nice and knowledgeable, his English is pretty good and did every thing to make sure I was ok and happy.
