Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards the main road leading out of the Amazon region towards the city of Bogotá. Depending on your starting point in Amazon, you may need to take Route 65. Once you reach Bogotá, follow signs for the Autopista Norte (North Highway) leading to Zipaquirá. After about a 50 km drive from Bogotá, take the exit towards Zipaquirá. Upon entering the city, navigate to Calle 5 where the Diocesan Cathedral is located at Cl. 5 #7-51. Parking may be available nearby, but be prepared for possible fees.

• Bus

  If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from your location in the Amazon region to Bogotá. Numerous bus companies operate on this route, and the journey can vary in duration (typically around 12-16 hours). Once you arrive at Bogotá's main bus terminal (Terminal de Transporte), look for buses heading to Zipaquirá. The bus ride from Bogotá to Zipaquirá will take approximately 1-2 hours. Upon arrival in Zipaquirá, you can ask locals for directions to Cl. 5 #7-51 or use a mapping application on your smartphone.

• Taxi

  After reaching Zipaquirá by bus, consider taking a taxi to the Diocesan Cathedral. Taxis are readily available outside the bus terminal. Make sure to agree on a fare beforehand or ensure the meter is running. The taxi ride should only take about 5-10 minutes to Cl. 5 #7-51.

• Walking

  If you prefer walking after arriving in Zipaquirá, the cathedral is centrally located. From the bus terminal, it's about a 15-20 minute walk. Head towards the main square and ask locals for directions to Cl. 5 #7-51, as the area is pedestrian-friendly and well marked.
