Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving to the Salt Cathedral, start from the nearest major city, which is Bogotá. Head north on Route 50 (Autopista Norte) towards Zipaquirá. Follow the signs for Zipaquirá and take the exit towards the city center. Once in Zipaquirá, follow the signs for Parque De La Sal. There is a parking lot available near the entrance of the Salt Cathedral, but be prepared to pay a small fee for parking.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  From Bogotá, you can take a bus from the Terminal de Transportes Salitre. Look for buses heading to Zipaquirá. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at the Zipaquirá bus terminal, you can either walk (about 20 minutes) or take a local taxi to the Salt Cathedral. If you choose to walk, head towards the main square, Plaza de los Comuneros, and then follow the signs to Parque De La Sal.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  If you prefer a more direct route from Bogotá, you can use a taxi or rideshare app like Uber. The ride will take about 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic. Just input 'Parque De La Sal, Zipaquirá' as your destination. Be aware that this option may be more expensive, typically costing between 100,000 to 150,000 COP.

• Local Transportation - Tuk Tuk

  Once you're in Zipaquirá, you can use local tuk-tuks for short distances. If you're at the bus terminal, you can find tuk-tuks waiting outside. Just tell the driver 'Parque De La Sal,' and they will take you there for around 5,000 to 10,000 COP.
