If you are starting from the historic center of Cartagena, head southwest towards the Plaza de los Coches. From there, make your way to the Calle de la Iglesia and walk along it until you reach the waterfront. Continue walking along the Avenida San Martín, which runs parallel to the coast. Keep following this road; you will pass several beaches on your right. After approximately 30 minutes of walking, you will reach the area near Alcatraces Monument, which will be on your left.

From the historic center, you can take a bus or a shared taxi (mototaxi) heading to Bocagrande. Board the bus at the main bus stop near the Plaza de los Coches. Inform the driver that you want to go to Bocagrande. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Once you get off at the Bocagrande area, walk towards the beach and follow the coastline. The Alcatraces Monument is located along the waterfront, and you will see it after a short walk.
