Car
To reach Cascada Perdida from Ciudad Perdida, first drive to Santa Marta. From Santa Marta, head towards the Minca road. The journey typically takes around 30 minutes. Follow the signs towards Minca. Once in Minca, continue on the main road for about 10 minutes until you reach the entrance to the trail leading to Cascada Perdida. Park your car at the designated parking area. Note that the road can be narrow and winding, so drive cautiously.
Public Transportation
Start by taking a bus from Ciudad Perdida to Santa Marta. Buses leave frequently and the trip takes about 2 hours. Once in Santa Marta, you can catch a minibus or a shared taxi (known as 'colectivo') to Minca. This part of the journey will take approximately 30 minutes. After arriving in Minca, look for signs directing you to the trailhead for Cascada Perdida. The hike from the trailhead to the waterfall usually takes around 1 to 1.5 hours. Ensure you wear sturdy shoes and bring water, as the trail can be steep and slippery.
Hiking
Once you have parked your car or arrived by public transport in Minca, begin your hike towards Cascada Perdida. The trail starts at the entrance near the parking area. Follow the well-marked path through the lush jungle. The hike is approximately 3 km and can take around 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your pace.
