Amazing Immersive Day to Villa de Leyva! A Must Day Trip from Bogota!

My day trip to Villa de Leyva with Hansa Tours was nothing short of phenomenal. From start to finish, it was the kind of experience that stays with you long after you’ve returned home. My guide, Esteban, was extraordinary — knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about sharing the history and culture of Colombia. He was a true ambassador of his country, bringing every stop to life with insight and enthusiasm. Our driver, German, made the journey just as enjoyable. He was fun, attentive, and an incredibly safe driver, adding warmth and personality to the day. We made wonderful stops along the way, including one of the region’s impressive water reservoirs — a peaceful, scenic place whose name I wish I could remember — and the charming park with the Simón Bolívar statue and its picturesque little bridge. Each stop added depth and beauty to the journey. Villa de Leyva itself was magical. Walking through its cobblestone streets felt like stepping back in time. We explored a serene monastery, visited a beautiful church, and stood in awe of the vast central plaza — which I learned is the largest in the Americas. The town’s atmosphere, history, and architecture were unforgettable. This was an amazing cultural day, made even better by the professionalism, warmth, and expertise of Esteban and German. I couldn’t recommend this tour more highly.
