Getting There

  • Car

    From Nariño, take the Pan-American Highway (Route 25) heading north. Continue on Route 25 until you reach the junction for Salento, Quindío. Take the exit onto Route 29 towards Salento. As you approach Salento, follow the signs for 'Valle de Cocora.' There is a parking area near the entrance to the valley, but be prepared to pay a small fee for parking (approximately 5,000 COP). The drive should take around 3-4 hours depending on traffic.

  • Bus

    If you prefer public transportation, head to the bus terminal in Pasto, Nariño. Look for buses heading to Armenia, Quindío. The journey takes about 6-7 hours. Once you arrive in Armenia, you can catch a bus to Salento. Buses run frequently, and the trip takes approximately 1 hour. In Salento, you'll find jeeps that go directly to Valle de Cocora. The jeep ride will cost around 3,000 COP and takes about 30 minutes.

  • Taxi

    For a more comfortable option, consider taking a taxi from Nariño to Salento. This will be a more expensive option, costing between 150,000 and 200,000 COP, but it offers the convenience of direct travel. Once in Salento, you can take a jeep to Valle de Cocora as mentioned above.
