Yo pagué por una cabaña a 200 metros de Caño Cristales, el operador se equivocó y me mandó a una que quedaba a tres horas en caballo y caminando, selva, llano, barro, raíces en la selva, caño, piedras para subir, charcos cristalinos. I cannot recommend this trip more highly. Flashpackers had everything organized, and made sure my trip was perfect. From the start, I went to the wrong spot to meet My group for the chartered flight. Scott (Flashpacker’s Colombian expert) was beyond helpful, despite it being 5 am. After calling him, he contacted the group I was meeting for the plane, and had them wait for me. When I landed, I met my tour guide, Gina. She spoke perfect English, and I honestly could not picture a better person to spend my time with in La Macarena. I was traveling solo, and Gina and everyone else in La Macerena made me feel beyond welcome. The hotel accommodations were basic, but had everything you would need. I opted to do the homestay, and loved my time with the local family. On my last day, Victor (English guide) and Diego (driver) took me to one last spot in Cano Cristales. The park was beautiful And their jokes were even better. Even as a solo female, I felt safe the entire trip. This tour is definitely worth every penny!
