Car
If you are traveling by car in Orinoquía, head towards Salento, Quindío. From the main road, take the exit for Salento and follow the signs. Once in Salento, continue on the Vía al Valle de Cocora road for approximately 11 km. You will see signs directing you to Cocora Valley. Parking is available near the entrance, but there may be a small fee for the parking area.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Cocora Valley using public transportation, first make your way to Salento. You can catch a bus from nearby towns or cities to Salento. Once in Salento, look for the jeep or Willys (a local 4x4 vehicle) that goes directly to Cocora Valley. These typically leave from the main square in Salento. The fare is affordable, usually around 3,000 to 5,000 COP per person. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes.
Walking from Salento
If you prefer to hike, you can walk from Salento to Cocora Valley. The trail starts from the main square in Salento and is well-marked. The hike is about 11 km uphill and can take around 3 to 4 hours, depending on your pace. Ensure you have proper footwear and water, as the trail can be steep and challenging.
