Car
If you are traveling by car from the Pacific Region, head towards Bogotá first. From Bogotá, take Route 50 towards Zipaquirá. It’s approximately a 2-hour drive (around 50 km). Once you reach Zipaquirá, follow the signs to Parque De La Sal where the Salt Cathedral is located. There is a parking lot available near the entrance.
Bus
To reach the Salt Cathedral via public transportation, take a bus from any major city in the Pacific Region to Bogotá. Once in Bogotá, head to the Terminal de Transporte Salitre, the main bus terminal. From there, take a bus to Zipaquirá, which runs frequently and costs about 10,000 to 20,000 COP (Colombian Pesos). Upon arriving at Zipaquirá, you can take a taxi or walk to Parque De La Sal, which is about a 20-minute walk from the bus station.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route after arriving in Zipaquirá, you can take a taxi from the Zipaquirá bus terminal to Parque De La Sal. The taxi ride costs around 10,000 to 15,000 COP and takes about 5-10 minutes.
Walking
For those who enjoy walking, from the Zipaquirá bus terminal, you can stroll to Parque De La Sal. The walk is approximately 1.6 kilometers and takes about 20 minutes. Follow Calle 2 towards the north until you reach the park entrance, where the Salt Cathedral is located.
