If you are traveling by car, start from the city of Sincelejo, which is the capital of Sucre Department. Head northwest on the Autopista 25 (also known as Ruta 90) for about 50 km until you reach the town of San Onofre. Once in San Onofre, look for signs that direct you towards the Sanguaré Nature Reserve. The reserve is located approximately 10 km from the town center. Follow the local roads towards the reserve, which will be well-marked. Make sure to check the condition of the roads, especially during the rainy season, as they can become difficult to navigate.

Public Transportation
To reach Sanguaré Nature Reserve via public transportation, you can take a bus from Sincelejo to San Onofre. Buses frequently depart from the Sincelejo bus terminal. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, and you should expect to pay around 10,000 to 15,000 COP for the bus ticket. Once you arrive in San Onofre, you will need to hire a local taxi or motorcycle taxi to take you the remaining 10 km to the reserve. The taxi fare should range from 15,000 to 30,000 COP, depending on your negotiation skills and the time of day.

If you are already in San Onofre and prefer to walk, you can hike to Sanguaré Nature Reserve. Start from the main square in San Onofre and head northwest. The walk is approximately 10 km and will take around 2 to 3 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water, as there may not be many places to stop along the way. Follow local instructions or ask for directions to ensure you stay on the right path.
