Getting There

  • Walking

    From the University Memorial Center (UMC), walk east on Euclid Avenue towards Broadway. Turn left onto Broadway and walk north for a short distance. The Henderson Building, which houses the museum, will be on your right, between 15th and 16th Streets. This is a free and straightforward walk.

  • Public Transport

    The University of Colorado Museum of Natural History is conveniently located near the Broadway and Euclid RTD bus stop (#12433). Most major RTD bus lines stop at Euclid and Broadway (North/Boulder-bound) or 16th and Broadway (South/Denver-bound), about half a block from the Museum. Check the RTD website for specific routes and schedules. A single ride fare is typically $3.

  • Driving

    From US-36, exit onto Baseline Road and head east. Turn left onto Broadway and continue north. Visitor parking is available at the Euclid Parking Garage, located between Broadway and 18th Street. Parking fees are $1.75 per hour for the first three hours and $3.00 per hour after that on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Weekday evenings after 5 p.m. and weekends have a flat fee of $3.00. Alternatively, there is limited free parking in the residential areas west of Broadway, but be sure to check posted signs for time restrictions.

These are meticulously categorized into five main areas: Zoology, Entomology, Botany, Paleontology, and Anthropology, providing a comprehensive overview of the region's natural and cultural heritage. The Paleontology Hall features impressive fossil displays, including a Triceratops skeleton cast. The Anthropology Hall showcases cultural artifacts, such as ancient stone tools crafted by nomadic hunter-gatherers. Zoology and Botany exhibits display a diverse array of animal and plant specimens, while the Entomology collection features Colorado's largest collection of bees. For younger visitors, the Discovery Corner offers a hands-on learning experience. Currently, the museum is temporarily closed for reorganization due to the Hellems Building reconstruction project and is scheduled to reopen on January 8, 2026. During the closure, the museum is offering virtual exhibits.
