Boulder International Peace Garden: A Symbol of Sister City Harmony

Established as a reciprocal gesture to honor Boulder's sister city, Dushanbe, Tajikistan, the garden was dedicated on October 6, 1990. Its design, conceived partly by Joseph Vigil, then an architecture student at the University of Colorado Boulder, features two semi-circular seating areas that span Boulder Creek, symbolizing the connection between the two cities despite their physical distance.
