Car
From any location in Central Colorado, head southwest towards Durango. You can take US-285 S and then merge onto US-160 W. Continue on US-160 W until you reach the junction with CO-491 S. Take CO-491 S and follow the signs to Mesa Verde National Park. Once inside the park, follow the Cliff Palace Loop road, which will lead you directly to the parking area for Cliff Palace. Note that entrance to Mesa Verde National Park requires a fee, which is currently $25 per vehicle.
Public Transportation & Shuttle
If you are traveling by public transportation, first take a bus to Durango. From there, you can use the local shuttle service offered by the Mesa Verde National Park. Check the schedule in advance, as shuttles may not run frequently. Once you arrive at the Park, you can use the shuttle to reach Cliff Palace. Remember to check the National Park's website for any fees associated with the shuttle service.
Walking
If you are already within the Mesa Verde National Park area near the Cliff Palace Loop, you can reach Cliff Palace by walking from the parking area. The site is a short hike from the parking lot, but please be prepared for some elevation changes and bring water, as it can be strenuous, especially in warmer months.
