Discover more about The Broadmoor Golf Club

The Broadmoor Golf Club, an integral part of The Broadmoor resort in Colorado Springs, has been a premier golfing destination since its establishment in 1918. Spencer Penrose, the visionary behind The Broadmoor, commissioned Donald Ross in 1916 to design an 18-hole course that would rival the best in the world. Ross, already renowned for his work at top clubs, considered The Broadmoor's course his finest, even compared to Pinehurst No. 2. The club expanded in 1965 with an additional 18 holes designed by Robert Trent Jones. Today, the club features the East and West Courses. A third course, the Mountain Course, designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay and later remodeled by Jack Nicklaus Design, was closed due to landslide issues. The East Course is known for its wide, tree-lined fairways and expansive greens. The West Course incorporates the original front nine holes from Ross's design. The Broadmoor Golf Club has a rich history of hosting prestigious tournaments, including the U.S. Women's Open (1995 and 2011) and the U.S. Senior Open (2008, 2018, and 2025). Jack Nicklaus won his first major tournament at the East Course in 1959. The resort's landmark hotel sits at an elevation of 6,230 feet, with the golf courses climbing slightly higher. The club also has two full-service practice facilities.
