Originally named the CU Events/Conference Center, it was later renamed the Coors Events Center in 1990 after a generous donation from the Adolph Coors Foundation. In 2018, the name was simplified to the CU Events Center. The arena has undergone several improvements over the years, including the addition of a maple surface designed to reduce injuries, new video boards, and a 44,000-square-foot practice facility. This practice facility even received LEED Platinum Certification for its sustainable design.
