Getting There

  • Driving

    From Boulder, take Highway 93 south to Eldorado Springs Drive (Highway 170). Head west on Highway 170 into the canyon. During peak season (May-October), timed entry reservations are required on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. A daily vehicle pass costs $10, or a Colorado State Parks Pass is required. Parking within the inner canyon is limited, especially on weekends. Be prepared to park in designated areas and walk to trailheads.

  • Public Transport

    During the summer, a free shuttle service (Eldo Shuttle) operates from various locations in Boulder to Eldorado Canyon State Park on weekends and holidays. Check the Eldo Shuttle website for the current schedule and pickup locations. A valid Colorado State Parks pass or payment of the $4 per person entrance fee is required to use the shuttle. The shuttle drops passengers off near the park entrance, providing access to trails and climbing areas.

  • Walking

    If you're already in Eldorado Springs, you can walk into the park. From the town center, head west on Eldorado Springs Drive (Highway 170). There is a parking lot just before the entrance, but local residents discourage parking there. A $4 per person fee applies for entering the park on foot or by bike. Be aware of vehicle traffic as you walk along the road into the canyon.
