Originally named Colorado Stadium, it was renamed in 1944 to honor Coach Fred Folsom, who led the Buffaloes in three different stints from 1895 to 1915. The stadium sits at an elevation of 5,360 feet, making it one of the highest stadiums in major college football. The stadium has undergone several expansions and renovations throughout its history.
