Walking
If you are starting from the Estes Park Visitor Center, head east on Elkhorn Avenue (US-34) for about 0.5 miles. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Lake Avenue. Turn left onto Lake Avenue and walk for another 0.3 miles. You will pass the Lake Estes Park area on your right. Continue walking until you see the entrance to the Lake Estes Trail, which will be clearly marked.
Biking
From downtown Estes Park, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops. Start by heading east on Elkhorn Avenue (US-34) for about 0.5 miles. Once you reach the intersection with Lake Avenue, turn left. Follow Lake Avenue for approximately 0.3 miles until you reach the entrance of Lake Estes Trail. The trailhead is well-marked and easy to access.
Public Transit
Check the local shuttle service schedule (Rocky Mountain Shuttle) which operates within Estes Park. Board the shuttle at any designated stop in town that heads towards Lake Estes. Inform the driver that you would like to get off at the Lake Estes Trail stop. After disembarking, you will see the entrance to the trail. Make sure to check the shuttle hours as they may vary.
