Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Estes Park, head northwest on Elkhorn Avenue towards Moraine Avenue. Continue on Moraine Avenue until you reach the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. Here, you may need to pay an entrance fee. Once inside the park, proceed to the Bear Lake Road area and take the shuttle bus towards the park's scenic stops. Get off at the stop for Trail Ridge Road. From there, you will follow the trail markers leading to Rainbow Curve Overlook. It's approximately a 1.5-mile hike uphill, so be prepared for a moderate trek. The overlook offers stunning views, especially during sunrise and sunset.
