Begin your ride by heading east on Mountain Avenue until you reach College Avenue (US-287). Take a right onto College Avenue and head north. Continue on College Avenue until you reach CR 42C. Turn left onto CR 42C and the Maxwell Natural Area will be on your right. The total distance is approximately 6 miles.

    From downtown Fort Collins, you can take the MAX Bus Rapid Transit line. Board the MAX at any of the downtown stops heading northbound. Depart at the Harmony transfer station. From there, transfer to the 'Poudre Express' bus which will take you toward the area of CR 42C.
