    Getting There

    Car

    If you're traveling by car, start from Boulder, CO. Take US-36 W towards Estes Park. Continue on US-36 W until you reach the junction with CO-7. Turn right onto CO-7 N and proceed to the junction with CO-72. Turn left onto CO-72 N, which will merge into CO-125 N. Continue on CO-125 N until you reach the junction with US-34 W. Turn left onto US-34 W and follow it into Rocky Mountain National Park. Once inside the park, follow signs for Grand Lake. The Holzwarth Historic Site is located in the Kawuneeche Valley along the Colorado River, approximately 12 miles from the entrance to the park. There is a parking area available near the site. Note that there is an entrance fee for Rocky Mountain National Park, which is currently $30 per vehicle for a 7-day pass.

    Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transportation, you can take the Bustang service from Denver to Estes Park. From Estes Park, you will need to arrange for a shuttle service or taxi to get to Rocky Mountain National Park. Once you arrive at the park, you can take the park shuttle (if operational) towards the Grand Lake area. The Holzwarth Historic Site is accessible via the shuttle service, but check the shuttle schedule ahead of your visit as it can vary seasonally. Ensure to plan for the entrance fee to the park, as well as any costs for shuttle services.
