The Ute Native Americans were the first to discover the therapeutic benefits of the Yampah Spring, which feeds the pools. They called it "Big Medicine". The resort has evolved over the years, adapting to changing times while preserving its historic charm. During World War II, the resort served as a U.S. Naval Convalescent Hospital. Today, Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge features 107 rooms, a spa, an athletic club, and the Sopris Splash Zone, ensuring a memorable stay for every guest. The main pool is maintained at 90° to 93°F, while the smaller Therapy Pool is kept at a warmer 104°F. The Sopris Splash Zone provides family-friendly water activities.
