Discover more about High Plains Raceway

High Plains Raceway (HPR) is a 2.55-mile road course that has quickly become a staple in the amateur racing community since its establishment in 2009. Located near Byers, Colorado, about an hour east of Denver, the track was born out of necessity when several other racing venues in the region closed. A group of amateur racing clubs formed the Colorado Amateur Motorsports Associates (CAMA) to create a new track for their members, and High Plains Raceway was the result. The track itself is known for its challenging layout, featuring 15 turns and over 300 feet of elevation changes per lap. Designed by engineer and racer Bill Howard, the course takes full advantage of the undulating landscape, offering a thrilling experience for drivers of all skill levels. HPR has four configurations: Full Course, West Course, North Course, and Short Course. High Plains Raceway hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including track days, driving schools, and wheel-to-wheel racing for both cars and motorcycles. Several racing organizations, such as the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and the Motorcycle Roadracing Association (MRA), hold events at HPR. The facility also offers open lapping days for drivers to explore their vehicle's performance in a safe and controlled environment. Beyond the track, HPR provides amenities such as a fully equipped paddock with space for trailers and RVs, power and water hookups, showers, and restrooms. Camping options are available, with RV spots and tent camping areas. A fueling station on-site offers various fuel options, including unleaded and leaded racing fuels.
