Walking
Start from the center of Monument, at the intersection of Beacon Lite Rd and Front St. Head north on Beacon Lite Rd for about half a mile until you reach the intersection with Mt. Herman Rd. Turn left onto Mt. Herman Rd and continue for about 1 mile. You will come to a small parking area on your right, which will be the trailhead for Independence Monument. From here, you can find trails leading directly to the monument.

Begin at the Monument Town Hall on Beacon Lite Rd. Head north along Beacon Lite Rd for about 0.6 miles. Take a left onto Mt. Herman Rd and ride for about 1 mile. Look for the trailhead parking on your right. Lock your bike at the bike rack provided, and from there, follow the marked trails to Independence Monument.
Public Transport
If you are using public transport, take the local bus service from Monument's main bus station. You will need to get off at the nearest stop on Mt. Herman Rd. From there, walk south on Mt. Herman Rd for about 0.5 miles until you reach the parking area for the trailhead. Follow the signs for Independence Monument, which will lead you onto the hiking trails.
