Start at the Ouray Visitor Center located at 580 Main Street. Head east on Main Street for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with 6th Avenue. Turn left onto 6th Avenue and continue for 0.2 miles until you see the signs for the Uncompahgre Gorge Trailhead. Follow the trail signs to the gorge which is about a 1-mile walk from the trailhead.
Biking
If you’re biking, start at Main Street and head east towards 6th Avenue. Turn left onto 6th Avenue and continue to the Uncompahgre Gorge Trailhead. The ride is approximately 1 mile from Main Street and is mostly downhill, making for a scenic and enjoyable bike ride.
Hiking
For a more adventurous route, hike from Ouray Main Street. Start by heading east on Main Street, then take a left on 6th Avenue. Follow the road until you reach the Uncompahgre Gorge Trailhead. The trail will lead you along the rim of the gorge, providing stunning views and opportunities for photography.
