Getting There

• Walking

  From downtown Trinidad, head east on Main St towards E 1st St. Continue on Main St for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with E 6th St. Turn left onto E 6th St and walk for about 0.3 miles. This street will eventually become CO-350 E. Continue following CO-350 E as it curves to the right. After about 1.5 miles, you will reach the I-25 overpass. At this point, you can either cross under the overpass and continue on the path that leads toward the interstate or you can catch a local bus heading towards the I-25 Rest Area. If you choose to walk, follow the path that leads to the entrance of the I-25 Rest Area: El Moro, which is located at Milepost 17.72. The rest area is approximately 2 miles from the downtown area.

• Bicycle

  Start at Trinidad City Park located at 100 S. Chestnut St. From there, head east on E Main St towards E 1st St. Continue on Main St for about 0.5 miles, then turn left onto E 6th St. Follow this road as it transitions into CO-350 E. You will encounter the I-25 overpass after about 1.5 miles. Bike across the overpass and follow the designated bike path that leads to the I-25 Rest Area: El Moro. The total distance is around 3 miles, and it’s mostly flat, making it a pleasant ride.

• Public Transit

  From downtown Trinidad, locate the nearest bus stop and board a local transit bus headed towards the I-25 area. Ensure to check the bus schedule as service may vary. The bus will take you along Main St and then head towards the interstate. You will want to request a stop at Milepost 17.72, where the I-25 Rest Area: El Moro is located. Once you arrive, it’s a short walk to the rest area from the bus stop.
